1.1 Introduction to BOINC AI
BOINC is an acronym for Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing.
It is an open middleware system for volunteer and grid computing.
BOINC was originally developed to support the SETI@home project, and has since become the dominant distributed computing platform. It is used by a wide range of projects in mathematics, physics, chemistry, life sciences, earth sciences, and other disciplines. BOINC was developed to help researchers gain easier access to the computing resources of volunteers around the world.
BOINC was developed by a team at the Space Science Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley (U.C. Berkeley), led by David Anderson. He also led the development of the SETI@home project. The development of BOINC was supported by the National Science Foundation and CSCNT Inc. (California Super Computing Network Technology Inc).
The CSCNT team licensed the technology and brand from the UC Berkeley Intellectual Property Office in 2020 and took the name BOINC AI for the direction of the blockchain and AI space and established the Foundation. The BOINC AI Foundation emphasizes its independence from the BOINC volunteer community and will not participate in or influence the development of the original community. It will only fund its community from time to time. Any branding and licensing queries should be directed to the UC Berkeley Intellectual Property Office.
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the demand for computing power is increasing. However, the development of the industry and the popularity of the technology have not reached a good balance. During peak arithmetic, training top models consumes a large amount of arithmetic resources, which are left idle after the peak falls back. This situation is a challenge for small and medium-sized AI entrepreneurs, as they lack the technology to effectively utilize this idle arithmetic.
Small and medium-sized entrepreneurs are the super enablers of AI, accelerating its development and popularization! Eco-services provide them with a boost to make AI faster and more widely integrated into human society.
In order to solve this problem, BOINC AI team blockchain technology and artificial intelligence technology combined to develop a series of innovative technologies and business models. We launched the world's first blockchain AI server; an AI chain master network that achieves efficient computational resource allocation through distributed arithmetic sharing. In addition, we created a model leasing marketplace (Model Finance), which uses smart contracts to automate model transactions and settlements, improve the efficiency of the model leasing marketplace, and provide users with a convenient model trading platform. Meanwhile, a Web3 Algorithm Technology Community has been established to provide a platform for developers and researchers to communicate and collaborate.
Even inexperienced entrepreneurs in AI application scenarios can access professional technical training and consulting services through our ecosystem.
Regular users can also be incentivized by contributing data.
"Finite problems and infinite arithmetic."
In short, using unlimited arithmetic to solve finite problems is an important advancement made by the BOINC AI team in the field of blockchain AI. With the characteristics of blockchain technology, such as openness and transparency, non-tampering, data privacy protection, decentralised trust and security, it promotes the continuous development and progress of AI. By strengthening technical research and partner collaboration, ecological participants can further improve the competitiveness of their products in AI application scenarios.
Human creativity stems from the desire to create a world that is entirely created by human will and logic and can be fully understood. In this quest, AI will ultimately achieve this goal by gaining access to unlimited arithmetic power. We need to remember that only the Creator can truly understand what He Himself has created. Artificial Intelligence will better help mankind understand the world he has created. Maths and law are tools of man's own making, as well as the meta-universe is too.
